About Us

Our Story

Long Lake Resort has been owned and operated by the same family since it was first established in 1926 by Great Grandpa, Bill Ulrey.  It was a popular & well known spot where people from the area would come & watch baseball games, swim, & mingle.

Over the years, Long Lake Resort’s popularity grew & grandpa decided to expand what Long Lake had to offer by building cabins for people to rent & stay in on the property. People from all over would come to stay in cabins, swim, & ride the toboggan ride; one of only two toboggans in the state of Indiana.  Great Grandpa Ulrey ran Long Lake until he passed away in 1946.  In 1947, Grandpa Bill’s son-in-law, Harry Swygart and his wife Eileen, took over the business & in 1968 Grandpa Harry later opened the property for daily & seasonal camping.

Although Long Lake is no longer open for daily swimming or tent camping, RV campers can come & experience all that it has to offer.  Whether it be stopping by Ulrey’s Landing for a snack, playing basketball by the water, swimming in the lake, crafting during Long Lake Kids’ Club, or roasting marshmallows by the fire at night, Long Lake is sure to provide a setting for memories to be made by you & your family.

Come & experience for yourself what families have been enjoying here at Long Lake Resort for nearly a 100 years.  You won’t regret it!
